• enact our strateges through system-wide methods of direct leadership, lobbying and legislation

what changes are we seeking?

• we don't know yet.
• will will seek our goals and strategies in two ways:
• (1) in prayer, study and reflection we will avidly seek god's guidance and direction for change
• (2) in conversation, dialogue and relationship we will trust in the gifts, passions and callings of our network to set our agenda
• we will be nimble enough to repond to movements of the spirit and agile enough to commit more effort in places of greater traction
• we expect that some strategies will look great, but won't work when we try them out
• we pledge to keep trying new ideas and new strategies

what do we do?

• we meet twice a year for agenda retreats, where we work together to discover and develop our strategies for change
• we work regularly with an initiative team to implement our strategies
• we hold each other accountable for our leadership covenant through monthly check-ins with a virtual or in-person covenant group
• we caucus at the annual conference meeting of the new england conference of the united methodist church

our leadership covenant

with god's help, we pledge to seek god's grace and guidance in our lives, our churches and our denomination by our:

• prayers - we will pray each day for god's guidance and use of our church
• presence - we will fully participate in the 2020 network, our local church and our conference
• gifts - we will seek god's abundant gifts, and we will contribute those gifts, including a tithe of our financial resources, to god's work
• service - we will seek and accept leadership and service opportunities through our local church and our conference
• witness - through faithful living and evident passion, we will boldly share god's love, hope, peace, justice and power with all of the world
